Frequently asked questions
Software
Which sports does the software support?
Nine, with full rule presets and ready-made layouts: water polo, swimming, basketball, volleyball, soccer, football, baseball, wrestling, and badminton. Every sport works with both hardware timing consoles (via Conduit) and the built-in Sports Console.
Which timing systems does it work with?
Colorado Time Systems, Daktronics, Swiss Timing/Omega, and Superior Swim Timing feed straight in, plus Hy-Tek Meet Manager for swim meet start lists and team scores. The data layer is built to add new decoders without re-architecting.
What if we don't have a timing console for a sport?
Use the Sports Console — a software scoreboard controller that runs the game clock, scores, fouls, timeouts, and per-player stats from a laptop or tablet. It feeds your screens exactly like a hardware console does.
Does it keep working if the internet goes down?
Yes. Players are offline-complete: each one caches its assigned content and play schedule locally, so it keeps showing the right thing with no connectivity. Live timing data flows over the local network at the venue.
Who designs the layouts?
Anyone on your team, in SwimTec Designer — in the browser or on the desktop. The Magic Data tool will place, size, and style a full sport's scoreboard for you in one click; everything stays editable afterward.
How do you schedule sponsor and rotation content?
Content carries scheduling rules — days of the week, time-of-day windows, and date ranges — evaluated in each screen's local time. A live event automatically preempts the rotation and hands back when it ends.
Hardware & rentals
What kinds of LED walls do you build?
100% custom NovaStar-driven walls, indoor and outdoor — scoreboard walls, ribbon boards, marquee and stadium displays. We design around your sightlines, viewing distance, ambient light, and budget, then install and support the wall ourselves.
What's in a TV screen package?
It's scoped per project: typically commercial-grade TVs with a pre-configured SwimTec player behind each one, plus mounting and installation. Already own the screens? We also sell player-only packages that make your existing TVs part of the system.
How do event rentals work?
We deliver, build, and tear down LED walls and screen packages for tournaments and large events, with an on-site technician or operator available. Live scoring, video, and sponsor rotation run on SwimTec software for the whole event.
How is hardware priced?
By project. Walls depend on size, pixel pitch, and site conditions; TV packages depend on screen count and installation; rentals depend on the build and dates. Contact us and we'll scope it with real numbers.
Accounts & pricing
What does the software cost?
Contact us for pricing for your project — software is priced with your screens, sports, and onboarding in view. After your first year, renewal is a simple flat $500/year per organization, with unlimited screens and users, all nine sports, and 5 GB of media storage (10 GB for +$100/year). Hardware and rentals are quoted separately.
How do I get an account?
SwimTec is sales-led: contact us for initial organizational pricing and we'll set up your organization and email your owner invitation. There's no self-serve signup — your team joins by invite, with roles and optional MFA.
Which platforms do the apps run on?
Director and Designer run in the browser on macOS and Windows; Director also runs on a Fire tablet as a dedicated control device. Players run on NovaStar Taurus LED controllers and Fire TV devices at your venue.
